About Us

Welcome to
our new website!

We aim to provide an interactive experience where you can better get to know us, our crew, and our diggers. Our business was established in 1990 by our father, Phil Harrington, following a family tragedy. Throughout his life, our dad held various jobs, including being a paratrooper in the army and working in a factory from a young age. He excelled in his positions, even becoming the youngest person to reach a high-ranking position in the company.

Our father’s diverse experiences included painting with his brother, working in a sawmill, running his own concrete business with his sons, and even fishing in Alaska. However, his true passion lay in worm digging. He not only possessed great skill in this field but also genuinely cared about the industry and the well-being of the diggers. Phil dedicated himself to improving the lives of those involved in the profession. Despite the sacrifices he made, this business ultimately took his life prematurely. Phil’s commitment extended beyond financial success; he generously supported diggers and the community, often providing groceries, meals, and assistance during times of need.

Following his passing, we learned about numerous other acts of kindness our father performed, often without seeking recognition. He was an extraordinary man and an exceptional father. Despite all his responsibilities, he managed to raise six children and took excellent care of our mother, Dot, his wife of 62 years. Above all, he made sure everyone knew how deeply they were loved.

Our father’s reputation in the industry was built on respect, particularly from those he stood up against. Continuing his legacy, my brother Dan has taken up the same causes, facing similar challenges. I am grateful that our brother shares the same passion, drive, and integrity as our father, garnering respect even from those who oppose him.

Digging worms has been a part of our family since around 1965, and our father dug until he established the business in 1990, leaving him with little time for digging himself. Initially, we sold worms dug by our father, brothers, and a few friends. Without the support of our brothers and Dad’s friends, we wouldn’t have reached where we are today. As the state’s largest wholesale marine worm dealer, we strive to carry forward our father’s vision and create a lasting legacy for future generations of our families and our diggers’ families.

Currently, we are developing a plan to support future generations of diggers and their families, even if their children choose not to pursue the profession. Our commitment to the industry and the welfare of diggers remains unwavering.
